OJCC Offices Closed 11/23; 12/23 and 12/30/2022

Governor Ron DeSantis Announces State Office Closures on November 23rd, December 23rd and December 30th in Celebration of the Holidays On November 17, 2022 TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced that state offices will be closed on November 23rd, December 23rd and December 30th. “Our state employees have worked hard throughout the year, especially over the past few months responding to Hurricane Ian and Hurricane Nicole,” said Governor Ron DeSantis. “Closing state offices on November 23rd, December 23rd and December 30th will provide state employees with some much-deserved time with their families to enjoy the holiday season. The First Lady and I are thankful for the dedication our state employees have demonstrated to helping the people of Florida.” Office closures on November 23rd, December 23rd and December 30th are in addition to regular office closures during the holidays. The Statewide Nominating Commission for Judges of Compensation Claims (SNCJCC) met Monday, November 14, 2022, regarding the reappointment of judges and nominations regarding a new position in District West Palm Beach. The four applicants for reappointment were nominated: Reappointments Honorable Ralph Humphries (JAX) Honorable W. Nicole Closures

  11.08.22 - The following OJCC Office closures have been announced in relation to Hurricane Nicole:     Daytona, November 9-10, 2022 (Wednesday and Thursday)     Ft. Lauderdale, November 9, 2022 (Wednesday)     Jacksonville, November 10, 2022 (Thursday)     Miami , November 9, 2022 (Wednesday)      Orlando, November 10, 2022 (Thursday)     Tampa, November 10, 2022 (Thursday)      West Palm Beach, November 9-10, 2022 (Wednesday and Thursday) The state courts have begun to prepare. This is relevant because the OJCC follows the Circuit Courts regarding facility closure. See Rule 60Q-6.130. EMERGENCY OFFICE CLOSURE (1) The Office of Judges of Compensation Claims is subject to closure pursuant to Gubernatorial instructions or declarations pursuant to Article IV, section 1(a) of the Florida Constitution and the Florida Emergency Management Act. November 2022 Consolidation Update

In furtherance of the DOAH decision to close OJCC District Offices, the operations in District Gainesville will terminate this month.
