All OJCC Offices Closed on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve

Tallahassee, Fla.  – Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced that state offices will be closed on December 24 th  and December 31 st .   “2020 was a challenging year for all Floridians, particularly our state employees who worked around the clock responding to the COVID-19 public health emergency,”  said Governor DeSantis . “Closing state offices on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve will provide these employees with much-needed additional time off to spend with their loved ones. The First Lady and I extend our appreciation to state employees for their hard work and wish them and their families a happy holiday season.”   Office closures on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve are in addition to regular office closures on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

Peter Antonacci Appointed DOAH Director

Peter Antonacci has been appointed Director and Chief Judge of the Florida Division of Administrative Hearings. The vote of the Florida Administrative Commission was December 15, 2020. He is expected to begin following the conclusion of his term as Broward County Supervisor of Elections. Judge Antonacci has a long history of public service. Peter Antonacci began his legal career in the Tallahassee office of Rogers, Towers, Bailey, Jones and Gay. He was later appointed as an Assistant State Attorney in the Second Circuit. Over the next eight years, Antonacci prosecuted numerous cases across North Florida, was twice appointed Special Assistant United States Attorney, and was appointed by Governor Graham as a specially assigned prosecutor throughout the State. During this period, Antonacci served on the Supreme Court’s Rules of Criminal Procedure Committee and chaired the Forfeiture Law Committee of the Florida Bar. In 1988, Antonacci was appointed Florida’s Statewide Prosecutor. Over the
